Aldi is selling a dehumidifier that’s “perfect” for improving air quality in your home. The £89.99 Midi Dehumidifier has an approximately two-litre water tank capacity and a digital display with a 24-hour timer function.
Other features include overflow protection, a child-lock function, and an adjustable fan speed. The 200W dehumidifier also has four wheels, which allow it to be moved around the home.
The AMBIANO appliance launches in stores on Sunday (Jan 12). According to the product description, the dehumidifier helps to “winterproof” homes.
“These are perfect for improving the air quality and help to reduce allergies. You can also use it to help dry your clothes quicker with its clothes drying mode,” the description explains.
Dehumidifiers are especially helpful if you have persistent damp problems, and they can help reduce condensation and prevent mould when you dry laundry indoors, according to CHOICE household experts.
“A dehumidifier removes moisture from the air, helping prevent mould. They mostly work by drawing air in, then filtering and cooling it to condense moisture. It’s then reheated before warmer and dryer air is released,” explains a page on the consumer advocacy group’s website.
When discussing the laundry function found on many dehumidifiers, the experts added: “They’re no match for tumble dryers, but they’re still a great option if you don’t have outdoor drying space, especially during colder months.”
Aldi’s also introducing a range of new laundry and household products as part of its latest Specialbuys offering. Other products launching over the weekend include a £9.99 Spray Mop, a £17.99 Portable Vacuum Cleaner, a £29.99 Oil-Filled Radiator, a £9.99
Available in black or white, the Oil Filled Radiator “heats up quickly and stays warm long after the power is switched off,” according to the product description, which says it is “perfect for cosy winter nights.” Meanwhile, the radiator reflector will also “help to keep your home warmer in the winter.”
