An Indiana man was arrested for attempting to wash out a young boy’s mouth with a bar of soap as punishment for the scamp calling him a swear word.
Daniel Schergen, 34, tried to force soap into the “naughty” 7-year-old’s mouth after the rascal called him a “motherf—er” during an August car ride, according to an affidavit reviewed by People.
Schergen told cops he was driving with his girlfriend and four children when the vulgar youngster started to throw a fit, the document read.
As the crew made their way to a Dunkin’, the boy started to wallop one of the other kids in the back of the car, according to the affidavit.
Schergen reached into the back seat to try to get the juvenile to stop. Instead, the foul-mouthed kid called the man the expletive, cops said in the doc.
Schergen then pulled the car over at a Dollar General, asked his girlfriend to run in and buy a bar of soap and forced the bar into the cussbox’s mouth, accidentally striking his forehead, the affidavit read.
The pottymouthed child had a bruise on his right ear and was red on the right side of his face, which Schergen told cops was “from holding his head down against the car seat,” according to the document.
When the 7-year-old started to bleed, Schergen’s girlfriend supplied first aid, the affidavit reads.
When questioned by the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office, Schergen told authorities he wasn’t sure how the child got the ear bruise, the document reads.
He also told police that the boy had a “temper” and was recently suspended from school for hitting other children, according to the affidavit.
Court records show that Schergen was charged with domestic battery and was released on a $750 bond.
He’s due back in court on Jan. 6, according to records.
Schergen’s relationship to the child wasn’t disclosed by police.
Attorney information for Schergen was not immediately available.
