A homeless man hunting for scrap metal in Brooklyn instead discovered a man’s corpse dumped in a garbage bag along with a bundle of wires, according to police sources.

The scavenger found the stuffed trash bag outside a church and dragged it down the block – to the corner of East 93rd Street and Avenue L in Canarsie – where he opened the sack and made the grisly discovery around 9:20 a.m., according to authorities and sources.

Along with the unidentified man’s body, the trash bag also contained wires and pieces of scrap metal, the sources said.

Officers responded when members of the city’s Sanitation Department called 911 to report the unsettling find.

First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene, cops said.

The city medical examiner’s office will determine the man’s cause of death, police said.

No arrests have been made.
