Kacey Montoya is back on the air — and she’s making her TV comeback at a rival station just months after getting the boot from KTLA in corporate layoffs.

The popular Los Angeles weathercaster returned Thursday evening on FOX 11, marking her first on-air appearance in six months.

She gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her new newsroom in an Instagram Reel showing her preparing weather maps and rehearsing an upcoming segment.

“This is the first that I’ve been on air in six months since we worked at the other place.”

Montoya confirmed the big move with a message to followers: “You can see me back on TV this Thursday evening on @foxla.”

She also offered a sneak peek at Southern California’s Halloween forecast, sharing weather maps from Tuesday evening and asking fans whether they thought rain would spoil the holiday.

The announcement drew cheers from colleagues at both her former and new stations. KTLA meteorologist Vera Jimenez commented, “Yay! So glad your back on!!”

FOX 11 anchor Brooke Thomas was already looking forward to sharing the desk with her new teammate, writing, “Yay can’t wait for our first newscast together!”

Montoya’s departure from KTLA came in April as part of corporate layoffs, rather than an individual firing.

After her final broadcast, she shifted her focus full-time to Fix’n Fidos, her animal welfare nonprofit, which funds spay and neuter services across Southern California.
