Warriors coach Steve Kerr went viral for seemingly noticing his doppelganger sitting behind the bench of a preseason game earlier in October.

Pulitzer-winning journalist Pablo Torre has become one of the top investigative journalists in sports, especially after his role reporting about the Clippers’ salary cap circumvention.

Torre got to the bottom of this doppelganger situation by introducing the two lookalikes — both of whom are named Steve — to each other, which he detailed during an episode of “Pablo Torre Finds Out” that was released on Thursday.

Torre put the two Steves on a group chat together, and the trio seemed to do a FaceTime call together.

“Steve, we finally meet,” Kerr said.

“It’s an honor to be part of this summit. The Steve summit,” Gillis said.

Then Torre showed several text messages between the two Steves. Kerr said to Gillis, “Hey, Steve, has anyone ever told you that you are a stunningly handsome man? :)”.

A bit later, Torre showed a screenshot of another text Kerr wrote, which read, “By the way, Steve, we should go to the polls together on Nov. 3rd. One after the other. We might be the lead story on Breitbart the next day as they question the validity of our elections. ‘HE VOTED TWICE!!!!!!’”

Torre, who was doing a voiceover of the exchange, said, “When I last left the Steves, you should know they were both plotting to go to the same place on Election Day, for the midterms, in order to create the allusion of voter fraud. They both agreed over text to do this.

“I still have no idea if they were joking. I guess on Tuesday we will find out,” Torre added.

Kerr is just joking, of course.

Then again, Bay Area voting locations might want to double-check the identities of similar-looking Steves next week.
