A popular low-cost airline has launched its first dedicated business class aircraft. The Jet2’s charter team has inaugurated its new specially configured Boeing 737-800NG with 76 business class seats and a minimum of 43 inches of legroom throughout. Based at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport, the plane also features enhanced comfort, more personal space, and the level of exclusivity that many charter customers require, Jet2 said.

The company also said passengers benefit from an enhanced onboard experience, including upgraded catering tailored to their requirements. The business-class aircraft has been introduced in response to demand from customers, including sports, music, entertainment, and specialist groups who are seeking privacy, comfort, flexibility, and an elevated travel experience, Jet2 explained.

Trevor Caplis, head of Charter & Airline Sales at Jet2, said: “This is the first time that we have featured a dedicated business class specification on our aircraft, so this is an incredibly exciting development for charter customers. The feedback from charter customers who have flown on it has been exceptional, with the premium feel, space and comfort onboard really shining through.

“This luxurious cabin environment, alongside the award-winning Jet2 customer service, looks set to be a huge hit with charter clients this winter.” Jet2 has also reinforced its No Fuel Surcharges guarantee last week, giving customers added confidence when booking their Winter 2026/27 flights and holidays.

The airline said it will repeat “its promise that customers will not face a fuel surcharge after booking. Put simply, the price customers book is the price they will pay”. The renewed commitment, Jet2 also added, came as millions of people plan their winter sun, city, Christmas market and ski breaks.

David Hills, chief customer officer at Jet2, said: “Customers work and save hard for their holidays, so they deserve certainty from the moment they book.

“As they plan their getaways this winter and beyond, we are reaffirming our No Fuel Surcharges guarantee and making it clear that the price customers book with Jet2 is the price they will pay, with no fuel surcharge added later.

“That reassurance applies to all customers booking with Jet2, whatever time of year they choose to travel, making now the perfect time to book that well-deserved holiday.”

Airlines have been hit by the rising cost of fuel that skyrocketed in the midst of the Middle East crisis.
