The Castilla-La Mancha Territorial Emergency Plan (PLATECAM) has been activated following the collision.
The regional government activated the plan for Toledo province at 9.15am, allowing emergency services to coordinate their response and deploy an Advanced Command Post.
Civil Guard officers, firefighters from Toledo and Ciudad Real, Civil Protection volunteers and regional health service resources have been deployed.
An emergency medical post is also being set up to triage those affected, provide initial treatment and transfer injured people to hospitals.
Urda’s sports hall has been made available to provide initial assistance to those affected.
