Heroes, zeros and the full blitz from the Jets’ 28-25 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday:
Hero
Malik Willis was unbothered most of the afternoon, dissecting the Jets defense for 208 passing yards and two touchdowns, along with another 37 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Zero
Garrett Wilson can’t throw the ball to himself, and he was nearly invisible. He was targeted just three times and finished with two receptions for 26 yards. So much for all that midweek talk about getting him the ball more often.
Unsung hero
Greg Dulcich celebrated National Tight Ends Day in style, catching five passes for 86 yards — all in the first half, as the Dolphins jumped out to a 21-7 lead. The 86 yards were one shy of his career high and his most since 2022.
Stat
107-6: The Jets deficit in the final two minutes of the first half under coach Aaron Glenn, which increased by three — which represented the difference in the final score — Sunday.
Quote
“I’d like to think we’re heading in the right direction. 2-5, not a good spot, though.”
— Garrett Wilson
