It doesn’t take much to get Lakers superstar Luka Doncic going.
Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg learned that the hard way Wednesday night at Crypto.com Arena in his early “welcome to the league” moment.
Doncic and Lendeborg spent most of the second quarter talking trash to each other after the former Michigan Wolverwine was called for a shooting foul against the Slovenian guard.
The chirping continued even when Lendeborg subbed out of the game, with Doncic going out of his way late in the second to talk to the 6-foot-9 forward while he was on the bench.
The punctuation mark to the jawing came right before halftime, when Doncic nailed a buzzer-beating halfcourt shot to give the Lakers a 66-52 lead going into the game’s break, with the Lakers winning the quarter 32-19.
Doncic scored 23 first-half points, 10 of which came in the second quarter.
The 3-pointer ended a 17-4 run for the Lakers.
And just like most of the quarter, Doncic went back to doing one of the things he does best: Talk trash after a big play.
Maybe Lendeborg, who was playing in his first NBA game after being the No. 11 pick in June’s NBA draft, will think twice before waking up the best that is Doncic.
