Once again, the injury bug has bitten Ladd McConkey.

After McConkey received a pass from quarterback Justin Herbert near the 50-yard line in the first quarter, he was brought down and immediately hit his head on the ground.

With over 13 minutes left in the second quarter, McConkey was seen walking back to the Chargers locker room with a towel over his head because of a head injury.

In the middle of the second quarter, McConkey was ruled out for the rest of the game due to a concussion.

Through the first five weeks of the season, McConkey has been dealing with a rib injury that he suffered in the team’s Week 1 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

McConkey has played through the injury since he suffered it but, his impact has been limited, especially over the last two weeks.

In Week 4, he had only two targets come his way but didn’t log a reception. Last week, he was on the team’s active roster but spent the game on the sideline and was only available on an emergency basis.

McConkey’s reception in the first quarter was his only one of the game as it was over the middle for a 17-yard gain.

The winless Chargers entered halftime trailing the undefeated Chiefs 19-3.

Injuries have riddled the Chargers this season, as Joe Alt, Derwin James, and wide receiver Tre Harris were all ruled out.
