Prince Harry’s love for polo has long been evident, but one outing was particularly special as it was the first time his son Prince Archie had been out in public with his cousins.
In the summer of 2019 when Prince Archie was just two months old, his dad and Prince William were playing polo for The King Power Royal Charity Polo Day in Wokingham in July of that year.
New mum, Meghan Markle, cradled Archie in her arms, while she supported her husband and enjoyed the sunshine with Princess Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Photos showed proud dad, Harry, constantly beaming at his wife and young baby after the match.
Dressed for the sporting occasion, Harry wore riding white jeans, brown riding boots, and a red and white polo top.
The polo match, which took place at Billingbear Polo Club in Wokingham, benefited charities close to the family’s hearts, including the Invictus Games.
Princess Kate wore a red and white patterned midi-dress by designer L.K.Bennett and arrived carrying a young Prince Louis.
Later in the day, the young prince played on the grass, while George and Charlotte played nearby.
The Duchess of Sussex, wore a baggy khaki green over-sized midi dress, by Lisa Marie Fernandez. She was pictured kissing Archie on the head as she made her way across the grounds.
The previous weekend, Harry and Meghan had just celebrated their son’s christening with a small group of close friends and family.
Royal dads, William and Harry, are regulars on the polo scene, but at the time, they were not expected to participate in many polo matches while taking care of royal duties and family commitments.
For Harry, his polo adventures continue, as he has just finished filming for his new Netflix series, titled ‘Polo’.
In December, the series launches. Ahead of its release, Netflix issued a series of stills from behind-the-scenes. They wrote in a caption on X: “POLO is a new documentary series that follows elite global players and offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of the sport. From Archewell Productions and Boardwalk Pictures. Premiering this December.”
Prince Harry’s best friend, Nacho Figueras, has previously spilled the beans about the Duke of Sussex’s upcoming Netflix series which focuses on polo played as a competitive sport.
Speaking to Hello! Magazine, Nacho shared just how much playing polo means to Prince Harry: “We’ve been working on this for a long time. It was always Harry’s dream and passion to share with the world, what it takes to be a really competitive polo player and show polo at the highest level.”
He added: “I cannot think of many people that can be better than him to be the kickoff of this storytelling.”
