A tense moment between Packers receiver Matthew Golden and Bears kicker Cairo Santos was caught on camera in Green Bay’s 31-7 victory on Sunday.

Golden had just returned a punt 17 yards into Bears territory and went out of bounds near Chicago’s sideline. He ran along the sideline when he ran full force into a Bears coach, who immediately toppled over.

Moments later, as Golden was leaving the sideline, Santos extended his leg toward Golden in an apparent attempt to trip the wideout after the two exchanged words. No flags were thrown, and Packers fans immediately took to the internet to call the move by Santos dirty.

Postgame, Golden briefly addressed the situation, confirming that Santos did indeed try to trip him.

“Yeah, he did. He did. But it’s all good. I ain’t got nothing to say to him,” Golden said plainly.

Golden’s squad came out on top, with the23-year-old recording a career-high 123 receiving yards on six catches and seven targets as he continues to develop during his sophomore season.

Meanwhile, Santos missed his only field goal attempt and made his one extra point in the contest.

The incident only helped turn up the heat in an already tense rivalry, and it wasn’t the only moment that caught people’s attention.

Packers linebacker Zaire Franklin threw shade at Bears receiver Luther Burden III in a callback to Burden saying Chicago wanted to “beat them real bad and make them quit.”

“You got guys that never really made a real play in this league talkin’ bout making somebody quit,” Franklin shot back. “That’s weird. We don’t do that. He quit today, by the way. He ain’t wanna play anymore.”

It appears the contention between the Packers and Bears is as alive as ever.
