WASHINGTON — Katie Zacharia, a former Homeland Security spokesperson, has been offered the position of White House press secretary, The Post has learned.

She’s currently at Fix California, Richard Grenell’s organization that is focused on advancing the conservative agenda in that state.

Zacharia is a frequent guest on Fox News where she is an ardent defender of President Trump.

She spent about three months at the Department of Homeland Security in early 2026, leaving the agency after Markwayne Mullin took over as secretary.

At DHS, she was reported to be close to then-Secretary Kristi Noem and special adviser Corey Lewandowski.

If she gets the position, it could upend the dynamics of Trump’s inner circle. Lewandowski and Grenell are not fans of Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

A mom of four, Zacharia blamed the long commute from California for her departure from DHS, telling Just the News it put a strain on her family.

Known as a hardline Trump supporter, she has a long background in Republican politics, according to her LinkedIn. She interned for the Republican National Committee while she was in college and worked in the White House office of Political Affairs during President George W. Bush’s second term.
