A brief struggle ensued and at least one protesters was arrested in the chaos.

While things were heated outside the hospital, inside, the 28-year-old man from the Dominican Republic, with reported ties to the Trinitarios, was recovering after an ICE agent shot him during “a targeted enforcement operation,” the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement.

Sources told The Post a 5-year-old boy was inside the same car as the man when he was shot.

The migrant has “a prior criminal conviction for grand larceny, and multiple prior arrests for assault, robbery, possession of drugs, and weapons possession,” the DHS said in a statement.

“This criminal illegal alien was arrested by the NYPD on December 7, 2023, but was released into the community a few days later by reckless Democrat sanctuary policies that put American lives at risk,” the statement read.
