President Trump on Thursday announced a $2.4 billion commitment from major tech giants including Nvidia, OpenAI and Anthropic to support federal agencies’ AI-driven scientific research.

The funding will be used to bring the Genesis Mission — an effort to use AI to improve federal scientific developments — to 14 agencies across energy, health and space, according to the Trump administration.

Nvidia is contributing $1 billion, the largest single donation. AMD has vowed to give $500 million, OpenAI is donating $200 million and Anthropic and Google have each pledged $150 million.

“With a $1 billion investment, NVIDIA is putting advanced Super Intelligence in the hands of America’s scientists to accelerate breakthroughs in medicine, energy and materials,” NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said Thursday in a statement.

AMP and Emerald AI have committed $100 million each, while AWS, Armada, Crusoe and Micron are each giving $50 million to the initiative, according to a press release.

The Genesis Mission launched in November 2025 through the Energy Department.
