Sports broadcaster Julie Stewart-Binks was emotionally candid about her two-week absence from work after she underwent surgery to remove skin cancer from her nose.

Stewart-Binks — who hosts Honda SportsNite on SNY and is a rink-side reporter for women’s and men’s professional hockey — explained she had Mohs surgery, which included grafting part of her ear onto her nose, and that doctors removed all the cancerous cells.

“Personal note: I haven’t been on TV or working the past two weeks because I had Moh’s surgery to remove squamous cell carcinoma from my nose,” she wrote in an X post on Wednesday. “I thought it was a pimple that wouldn’t go away, turns out it was cancer. I share this so that hopefully it inspires others to get checked is something feels/looks off.

“The cool part about this, is not only did they remove all the cancerous cells, but they grafted part of my ear 👂🔪👃 onto my nose. I’ve played hockey my entire life, but never felt more like a hockey player than I do now. Sew me up and put me in coach.”

The veteran broadcaster shared some of her recovery and pictures of her bandaged face in various Instagram posts.

“As someone who spends almost 24 hours a day alone, I have really been able to get to know myself – you can be both grateful you had skin cancer removed, and also depressed dealing with it,” Stewart-Binks wrote, including a video collage of her recovery.

“People are so kind to offer help or if you need anything to reach out, but when you live alone it’s like ‘do you want to come over for anywhere from 20 minutes to 7 hours in case something inconveniencing happens?’”

Stewart-Binks said she was feeling much better on Wednesday while attending an event for Stanley 1913 and TOGETHXR in Brooklyn to celebrate women’s sports during the WNBA playoffs.

“Feeling a million times better than last week but not quite myself,” she wrote, including a photo of her sporting a Gotham FC hat, on her Instagram Story.
