Prince Harry has been named as one of the hottest men of all time, fending off competition from Hollywood heartthrobs, a former England captain, and a One Direction star.
According to Harper’s Bazaar’s list of hottest men of all time, the Duke of Sussex is the 25th most attractive male ever. David Beckham, Bradley Cooper and Channing Tatum are among those who were placed lower than the Duke of Sussex.
And while 40-year-old Harry has lived his life in the spotlight, thanks to his royal roots, some things about the prince could be surprising to fans. This includes his “real name” with the duke opting to use the “nickname” Harry in his daily life.
What is Prince Harry’s real name?
Harry was born Henry Charles Albert David. He is the youngest son of King Charles and the late Princess Diana, who referred to him as Harry when he was growing up, a name that stuck.
He doesn’t have a traditional surname, opting to use Wales as a young man and more recently Sussex. He has also been known to use the name Mountbatten-Windsor.
The name has been used by the descendants of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip on official documents, with both Princess Anne and Prince Andrew using it on their marriage certificates. Lady Louise, Prince Edward’s daughter, also uses the surname Mountbatten-Windsor, with Prince William also being known to use the name on official documents.
While Harry rarely uses his “real” first name, it has been the choice for official announcements by The Royal Family. When announcing his engagement to Meghan Markle, Kensington Palace referred to him as “His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales”.
Prince Harry’s Net Worth
According to Celebrity Net Worth, the Duke of Sussex and his wife had a fortune of £46 million earlier in 2024. However, when Harry turned 40 he received a cash boost from a fund set aside by his late great-grandmother.
The Queen Mother is said to have put aside a £14 million fortune that would be split between Harry and older brother Prince William. Harry is said to have received a slightly larger amount because of how the Royal Family divides funds.
William, as the next in line to the throne, will benefit hugely from the Duchy of Cornwall, a private estate that pays for the public, charitable and private activities of the King’s heir. The fund from the Queen Mother means Harry will have an estimated net worth of around £53million.
How has Prince Harry amassed his fortune?
Harry’s net worth will include a substantial amount the Duke and Duchess of Sussex received from their Netflix projects. This has included a tell-all documentary series Harry and Meghan, and Heart of Invictus, following the Invictus Games.
Prince Harry is also understood to have received a £16 million advance for his bombshell memoir Spare, as part of a four-book deal worth £32 million which was signed in June 2021.
The prince is also said to receive annual dividends from Princess Diana as well. She is said to have set up a fund for both Harry and William out of the cash received from the-then Prince Charles when they divorced in 1996.
Prince Harry named 25th hottest man ever
While Prince Harry was named as the 25th hottest man by Harper’s Bazaar, it was American actor James Dean who topped the list. His career saw him starring in Rebel Without a Cause, East of Eden, and Giant before being killed in a car crash aged just 24.
Fellow Hollywood superstar Marlon Brando was named in second place ahead of fellow actors Cary Grant and Rock Hudson. Modern day A-listers featured included George Clooney (13), Brad Pitt (14) and Leonardo DiCaprio (15).
While former England captain David Beckham came in at 39 and One Direction singer Zayn Malik was placed at 48. Harry sat behind Jake Gyllenhaal but ahead of John Stamos.
