Case Keenum’s 5-year-old daughter, Cadence, stole the spotlight after the Bears’ third-string quarterback shined in a 27-7 win over the Eagles on “Monday Night Football.”
During an postgame interview with Scott Van Pelt on ESPN, Cadence was all smiles while saying she’d watch game film with her dad after he completed 24 of 34 passes for 247 yards with two touchdowns and a 110.8 passer rating at Solider Field.
The 14-year NFL veteran — filling in for Caleb Williams, sidelined with a hamstring strain — hadn’t played a NFL game in 1,009 days.
“Daddy said that tomorrow when he wants to watch the game, he thinks maybe you’re going to want to watch ‘Bluey’ instead,” Van Pelt, 60, told Cadence.
“Are you going to watch the game tomorrow or do you want to watch ‘Bluey’?”
Cadence, who was sporting Bears gear and her dad’s No. 11, replied, “The game!”
She added that she was cheering for her dad: “Let’s go dada!”
Keenum gushed over his wife, Kimberly, and their kids, Cadence and 6-year-old son, Kyler, attending the game.
“I can’t tell you enough, I thought of them a lot on the side,” Keenum said of his family, adding that they gave him peace. “… God has built me for this, but man to have [my family] to be able to — they’re watching their dad play. That’s what it’s all about.”
Bears head coach Ben Johnson gave Keenum the game ball in the locker room after improving to 2-1.
“It’s all about Case Keenum and what he was able to do here tonight,” Johnson said. “I thought he did an extraordinary job … He played really efficient football, and I couldn’t be more proud of him for that.”
The Bears host the Jets (1-2) on Sunday.
