The body of a 26-year-old military servicewoman was found inside a torched car near Florida’s Eglin Air Force Base, authorities said.
Boerne, Texas resident Tamera Moniq Bolden-Cleckley, who held the rank of senior airman in the 96th Surgical Operations Squadron, was identified days after her body was found on Wednesday, officials said.
“It is with a heavy heart that I share the loss of Senior Airman Bolden-Cleckley, one of our teammates,” Col. Daniel Micsunescu, commander of the 96th Surgical Operations Squadron, told local television station WEAR.
“During this incredibly difficult time, I want to extend my deepest condolences to Tamera’s family, friends, and all those who knew and cared for her.”
Bolden-Cleckley’s body was found by Security Forces patrolling Range Road 234 and Lewis Turner Boulevard.
Federal investigators have not released any additional information and have said that the death remains under investigation.
“Senior Airman Bolden-Cleckley was a valued member of the 96th Test Wing team, and we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and fellow airmen during this difficult time,” Col. Chris Keithley, commander of the 96th Test Wing, told the station.
Bolden-Cleckley entered the Air Force in 2021 and was assigned to the surgical squadron as a diagnostic imaging specialist, also known as a radiology technician, the outlet said.
