A TikTok food content creator has shared a brilliant new method for cooking fried eggs to perfection—without needing to flip them at all.

This clever trick not only ensures the yolk stays perfectly intact, but also guarantees that the egg is cooked evenly on both sides, all while requiring just a few simple tools and a splash of water.

The best part? It’s so incredibly easy and hassle-free that it won’t hurt to give it a try yourself, and you might just wonder why you never thought of it before.

Sean Jimminson, a creator who’s built a following for his kitchen hacks on his @seanjimminsonfitness TikTok account, recently introduced his followers to what he calls “the fried egg hack you didn’t know you needed.”

While this method may seem a bit unconventional at first, it promises to deliver perfectly cooked eggs with a flawless yolk, and requires only a frying pan, a lid, an egg, and a splash of water — nothing fancy.

The secret to this technique is the use of steam to cook the egg from both sides, resulting in an evenly cooked egg without the need to flip it.

Simply crack the egg into a heated pan, add a small amount of water, and cover the pan with the lid.

The steam that builds up inside the pan gently cooks the top of the egg, including the yolk, while the bottom remains crispy and golden.

As Sean explains, “Once it’s sealed, remove the lid and you’ll get perfectly cooked fried eggs every time.”

The beauty of this method lies in the fact that no flipping is necessary, which means there’s no risk of breaking or splattering the yolk all over the kitchen.

This hack has quickly gained traction, with the video already amassing over 22,000 views and sparking a range of reactions from viewers.

While some, like McEnzo, weren’t entirely convinced by the method, stating: “I’ve always just popped mine under the grill to cook the top,” others were much more enthusiastic about it.

One user commented: “Never added water like this until just now! Oh my, so delicately, perfectly, evenly cooked! This is how I’ll do it from now on!”
