A woman’s body was discovered dumped inside a trash can in the parking lot of a remote Brooklyn beach off the Belt Parkway Wednesday afternoon, according to police and reports.
Cops responded to a 911 call around 3 p.m. and found a woman unconscious and unresponsive in a Plumb Beach parking lot, near the parkway and Knapp Street, the NYPD said.
The woman, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS, according to police.
Her body was found inside a trash can on the small peninsula jutting out from Sheepshead Bay and across the Rockaway Inlet from Breezy Point, sources told ABC 7.
Investigators at the scene appeared to examine a trash can while they collected evidence.
The woman’s body, covered in a white sheet, was seen being removed from the scene by the medical examiner’s office Wednesday night.
The parking lot where the body was found is frequently used by people visiting Plumb Beach — a small beach part of Gateway National Recreation Area that’s popular with windsurfers and kiteboarders.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine how the woman died, police said.
As of Wednesday night, no arrests have been made.
