This would have been a great day for the Mets to be showcasing Tyrone Taylor.
Or Brooks Raley.
Or, heck, even Cionel Pérez, who went six up, six down Sunday with three strikeouts.
The problem is that Pérez entered in relief to begin the fifth inning, which meant the player the Mets were most hoping to display well to contenders with the trade deadline a week away, Freddy Peralta, lasted just four innings.
