Meghan Markle branded ‘pretty unpopular’ by Donald Trump’s son | Royal | News

Meghan Markle was described as being “pretty unpopular” by Donald Trump’s son, Eric, who made a scathing attack against her husband, Prince Harry, after branding him the “black sheep” of the Royal Family.

The Trumps and the Sussexes have been in an ongoing feud for a few years.

Their spat began in 2016 before Meghan married into the Royal Family when she accused the former US president of being “divisive” and “misogynistic” during an interview on The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore.

But it took three years for him to reply to her comments and just before his trip to the UK in 2019, he told the Sun: “I didn’t know she was nasty”. He attempted to dismiss the comment, despite it having been recorded.

In 2020, the Republican presidential candidate hit out at Meghan again and said: “I’m not a fan of hers. I wish a lot of luck to Harry, he’s going to need it.”

And just earlier this year, he hinted he could intervene regarding Prince Harry’s visa “if he lied” about taking drugs in the past – a confession he made in his memoir Spare.

Now his son, Eric, gave out a scathing verdict on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex while praising the Prince and Princess of Wales.

He told the Daily Mail: “Kate, I think she conducts herself so incredibly well and has been such a rock in the next generation of the family.

“And William, obviously I don’t really think has made a misstep.

“And yet, you look at this one black sheep [Harry] who doesn’t exactly know where he is, led by a wife who’s pretty unpopular, both here and over where you are.”

However, he added that he doesn’t foresee Prince Harry’s visa being revoked.

The Heritage Foundation, a Washington-DC-based think tank, submitted freedom of information requests to the US Department of Homeland Security earlier this year to release the Duke of Sussex’s immigration records following his revelations in his memoir about past drug use.

Harry revealed he had previously used recreational drugs like cocaine, marijuana and magic mushrooms in Spare, which raised questions about whether the duke had declared that on his visa application when he relocated to the US.

Under US law, while not constituting an automatic ban, drug use can be grounds to reject a visa application.

But Judge Carl J Nichols terminated the case last month after he ruled that the duke’s visa application should remain private.

However, in the latest development, the think tank has submitted a new court filing as it wants to reopen the case, claiming it was not allowed to see private submissions to the judge by the Joe Biden administration, according to the Telegraph.

Eric Trump appeared to dismiss the probability of Prince Harry’s visa being revoked, saying: “I don’t give a damn if he did drugs. It means nothing. I can tell you that our father and our entire family has tremendous respect for the monarchy. It’s actually sad.”
