Michigan has ended its national championship drought in men’s basketball.

The Wolverines captured the program’s first national title since 1989 with their 69-63 win over UConn at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Michigan has reached the NCAA Tournament final five times since 1989, before this year, but had never been able to come up with a win in the span.

Michigan held the lead for much of the game, but held off a late push by the Huskies to prevent UConn from winning its third title in the last four years.
