The star outfielder had a blip early last season when he wasn’t producing at a level expected for a player on a $765 million contract. But Soto got his act together and performed at a Juan Soto-like level for most of the season.
There are other Mets players in the same category as Soto, with little, if anything, to prove now that this season is underway with their customary Opening Day win. And yet, there are others at whom you look and wonder “What is he?”
