COLUMBUS, Ohio — Put yourself in Ondrej Palat’s shoes for a minute.
Palat played his last game with the Devils in Seattle on Jan. 25. He was traded to the Islanders two days later, and played six games in just over a week with his new club, shuttling between a Long Island hotel and his New Jersey home.
Then he shipped off to Milan for the Olympics for two weeks.
Now he’s back with the Islanders on a road-heavy stretch that continued Saturday with a crucial four-point match against the Blue Jackets, before a 24-hour trip back to New York, and then a cross-country flight Monday for a 10-day road trip that starts in California.
