San José residents are on edge after police found secret camouflaged cameras planted outside homes in bushes — likely used by burglars to spy on homeowners.
“The suspects plant hidden surveillance devices, or pose as delivery service providers, or landscapers to determine when homes are unoccupied before committing burglaries,” the San Jose Police Department said in a statement.
Cops said they found one camera Thursday in an east-side neighborhood hidden in the bushes outside a residence, according to the statement.
The device, attached to a power bank and aimed directly at the home, was discovered by the homeowner but there was no sign of who put the recording device there.
Authorities issued an urgent warning to locals, telling them to keep an eye open for hidden cameras, unfamiliar vehicles, suspicious visitors or unattended packages
