Luke Littler ready to join I’m A Celeb with Angry Ginge on condition | Other | Sport

Darts superstar Luke Littler has backed I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant Angry Ginge to triumph in the jungle. The 18-year-old, who counts the online star, real name Morgan Burtwistle, amongst his mates, also hinted at a potential future stint down under himself.

The Manchester United supporter and content creator touched down at Brisbane airport this week in preparation for the show’s launch on November 16. Ant and Dec are set to grace ITV screens once more on Sunday, with Burtwistle already leading the bookmakers’ odds to claim the jungle crown.

Meanwhile, Littler sailed into the knockout phases of the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton following a commanding 5-1 victory over Daryl Gurney as his title defence marched on.

He now awaits the discovery of his next Grand Slam opponent whilst simultaneously keeping tabs on the series unfolding in Australia.

In conversation with SportsBoom, Littler confessed he anticipates the 23-year-old will perform “very well” under challenging conditions.

He said: “I think he’s going to do very well. I’ve known for a very long time. We’ll have to vote him on and see what he has to eat.”

Littler would be a natural choice for future instalments of the reality programme, and is ready to join – if television bosses dig deep into their pockets to secure the darts sensation.

When questioned about potentially venturing into the jungle himself, he responded: “Maybe… If they come around for the right price. I might go over for a couple weeks.”

Angry Ginge touched down in Australia on Monday to a reception from supporters and journalists before the programme kicks off.

The 23-year-old confessed he would miss his cherished Manchester United and his mother, but delivered sharp responses to the press.

“I did a Duke of Edinburgh bronze award at school so I am not too bad at camping,” he said.

“One of the reasons I vowed to never go to Australia was because of the spiders and animals so I am hoping the hotel is secure.”

In a YouTube clip announcing his exit to join the reality television programme, he expressed hopes that the Red Devils would win in two of the three fixtures he would miss and sit second when he returns in early December, stating: “Hello there. If you are seeing this, I have officially been announced that I am going in the jungle.

“That’s what I’m praying for. “I’m hoping I come out, Man Utd are second in the league and going for the title… Arsenal are dropping points.”
