Piers Morgan’s savage ‘Ebola’ comment after Meghan sacking attempt | Royal | News

Piers Morgan has savagely joked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “as popular as Ebola” after the Duchess of Sussex tried to get him sacked from his television role. The 60-year-old has famously been feuding with Meghan for many years – and previously posed criticism that he “didn’t believe a word” from the televised Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021.

In the interview, Meghan opened up about her mental health struggles and admitted that she even felt suicidal during her time in the Firm. In a new article, he reflected on the couple’s continuous outburtsts towards the monarch, adding, “in my view they did so just to boost their own brand”. He continued: “But the monarchy under King Charles is doing what monarchy does – enduring, calmly above the fray”, before savagely adding, “Brand Sussex, meanwhile, is now about as popular as Ebola.”

In the article, which was published for the Daily Mail, he wrote: “When I denounced their infamous whine-a-thon interview with Oprah Winfrey, the MyTruth pioneer, in 2021 and lost my job hosting breakfast television as a result, it came at the very apex of woke insanity.”

He added: “We were in the age of endlessly offended cancel culture, when everybody was assumed guilty until proven innocent, especially on socially sensitive matters like race or mental health.

“Self-certifying as a victim – as Harry and Meghan so publicly did – meant your truth was gospel.

Wokeness was the denial of facts, reason, science and logic whenever they were inconvenient. Debate was stifled and people scared into compliance. For a while, everything had to be racist. The only acceptable opinion was that racism is everywhere and that everything was broken.”

Piers has also previously branded Meghan as “Pinocchio”, and after she posted a video of her seemingly ‘twerking’ during her labour with Princess Lilibet, he typed furiously: “Princess Pinnochio whining about people peddling lies. Hilarious.”

His comments following her candid conversation with British entrepreneur Emma Grede for her Aspire podcast.

Meghan shared that she stated prophetically that a “lie can’t last forever” as she wants the truth to be revealed about her time in the UK.
