‘Masterpiece’ thriller returns to Netflix with nearly 100% on Rotten Tomatoes

Netflix has added a “perfect” psychological thriller to its platform after it was previously removed. Netflix regularly adds movies and TV shows to its platform, allowing subscribers to enjoy fresh content every few days. However, some titles get removed to make way for something new. One title that has been taken off the platform and subsequently added back on is a thriller that left fans reeling when it was first released.

Get Out was released in 2017 and wowed both viewers and critics. The psychological thriller and horror stars British star Daniel Kaluuya and familiar faces like Allison Williams. The film has an impressive 98% Rotten Tomatoes score, with viewers praising the performances, the clever writing, and the edge-of-your-seat scenes. The film has recently landed back on Netflix after being removed from the streaming service last year.

Get Out follows Chris, an African-American man who goes with his white partner to visit her family for a weekend. Things seem standard at first, but he soon learns that things aren’t what they seem, and the movie takes such a dark turn that it keeps audiences guessing and dreading what might happen next.

Viewers have had rather positive things to say about this flick. One Rotten Tomatoes reviewer wrote: “It was psychological perfection and gave you isolation in a room full of people vibe. Chris is a fantastic main character who struggles with the fear of his mother’s death, which is a recurring theme. The beauty of this movie was the ability to make you feel claustrophobic in an open space, which is something that Jordan Peele does fantastically in ‘NOPE’.”

Another shared: “Nearly everything feels perfect. After watching the film the more I thought about it the more I liked it. For me I wasn’t really scared but did feel the suspense.”

A third commented: “If I could give this 10 stars I would. Top 5 film of all time no question. If I had my memory erased the first thing I’d do is rewatch this masterpiece.”

Another said: “Interesting, relevant, original and brilliantly executed. What more can you ask for in a film?”

Get Out is among the slew of movies that have been added to Netflix UK recently. Subscribers have also been treated to Cold Mountain (2003), Mary Queen of Scots (2018), Black Rabbit (2025) and Seventh Son (2014).
