A lip reader has said what she thinks Donald Trump and the First Lady, Melania Trump, said to each other after they arrived in the UK.The couple are in Britain for a state visit, during which they will meet with King Charles III and Sir Keir Starmer. When stepping out of the plane, the US President Donald Trump purportedly told his wife: “Ooh its cold. I’m glad we are wearing our coats.” He is said to have added when approaching the steps: “Ooh, careful.”

When greeting dignitaries on the tarmac, Nicola Hickling thinks that Mr Trump told them: “Thank you for coming.” One of them told the President: “I hope you had a good journey.” He replied: “How you doing? Thank you for coming to meet us here, we’re having a great September back home.” Moving onto the next person, Trump is believed to have told them: “Thank you for meeting us this evening, thank you very much.”

They replied: “We’re looking forward to welcoming you to our state.”

He is said to have then told them: “I think you’ll do a good job.”

While standing back, waiting for Melania, Ms Hickling says he told the man beside him: “It’s so windy, her hair has blown everywhere.

“Are we ready?”

While walking towards the Marine One helicopter, the man apparently told the president: “That had to be changed to another time.”

Trump is believed to have replied: “I’m confused, have you managed to organise it with the million other things going on?”

The man, guiding Trump, reportedly said: “Your helicopter waits.”

At the helicopter, they stopped and shook hands, with Trump saying: “I’ll see you shortly.”

It was announced that Britain and the US have struck a tech deal that could bring billions of pounds of investment to the UK as President Donald Trump touches down for his state visit.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said the agreement represented “a general step change” in Britain’s relationship with the US that would deliver “growth, security and opportunity up and down the country”.

The “tech prosperity deal”, announced as Mr Trump arrived in the UK on Tuesday night, will see the UK and US co-operate in areas including artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing and nuclear power.

It comes alongside £31 billion of investment in Britain from America’s top technology companies, including 30 billion dollars (£22 billion) from Microsoft.
