Parts of the UK are likely to freeze in a 2C cold snap as brutal cold weather conditions look set to hit the country. Weather maps from WXCharts show there will be a sudden drop in temperatures, leaving many cities shivering at temperature lows close to freezing in a matter of days.
According to the weather maps, cities such as Fort William and Inverness will experiences the coldest conditions at 6am as the mercury to as low as 2C on Sunday (September 14). Other parts of Scotland such as Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh will see temperature levels osccillating between lows 3C and 4C. Maps suggest that English cities, such as London and Birmingham could shiver at 8C during the same period, along with other cities like Manchester, Leeds and Stoke on Trent.
The cold weather comes as the Met Office has issued a yellow warning of wind for Sunday with gusts of around 50-60 mph likely around coasts and hills and 70-80 mph possible in some areas.
The warning, which will come into effect from 8pm on Sunday until 6pm on Monday, is for areas around London and South East England, North West England, South West England and Wales. However, while the windy conditions will impact the southern parts of the country, the maps suggest that the northern parts will experience chilly weather on the same day.
According to the Met Office, the weather is set to stay unpredictable, with a mix of sunshine and blustery showers continuing from Saturday.
Forecasting the weather conditions between Saturday and Monday, it explained conditions will turn wetter and windier across more areas by Sunday, with the possibility of strong coastal gales. Monday will remain breezy, bringing more scattered showers and a noticeable chill in the air, making it feel cooler overall.
