Prince William stepped out in South London on Tuesday to visit Spiral Skills, a youth organisation in Lambeth, who have received funding the Prince’s Homewards Fund to grow their work. Prince William launched Homewards back in 2023 to prove that it is possible to end homelessness, making it “rare, brief and unrepeated.”
Spiral Skills was founded in 2015 and works with local schools and youth organisations to provide early intervention, support, employability skills, and access to employment for 14–25-year-olds. The organisation provides career coaching, employment opportunities and workshops to help break the cycles of exclusion and unemployment for young people in the local area.
Support from the Homewards Fund has allowed Spiral Skills to move into a new prevention hub for young people and further expand their influence.
After his visit to Spiral Skills, the Prince attended a workshop with Young Creators UK, an impact-led creative agency run and owned by underrepresented young people.
While there, William joined a film production workshop with young people and reunited with Homewards Advocate Fara Williams MBE, who starred in the Prince’s Homewards documentary, to hear about how the organisation has helped them to gain confidence and new skills.
Homewards is focusing on six areas around the UK using scalable solutions to really make a difference – Lambeth in South London, Bournemouth, Newport, Belfast, Aberdeen and Sheffield. Each location is placing a keen focus on helping a specific group, for example, in Aberdeen, the spotlight is on single occupants and young people under the age of 25.
Lambeth, meanwhile, is largely focusing on supporting lone parents in temporary accommodation, while Northern Ireland is aiming their help on women who are experiencing chronic homelessness.
Prince William’s outing today comes after The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales announced that they will be joined by a new Chief Executive Officer, Sarah Rose, in February 2026.
On the news of the new hire, the Prince and Princess of Wales said: “We are looking forward to welcoming Sarah to The Royal Foundation and to working with her on some of the issues which are closest to our hearts.
“We are hugely grateful to Amanda for her exceptional leadership over the past three years and are pleased she will continue to work with us in her new role as Global Partnerships Ambassador.”
