Royal fans were delighted to see a “beaming” Princess Kate as she posed with the England team after the Women’s Rugby win saw them reach the World Cup 2025 Quarter finals with a victorious win against Australia. The Princess of Wales was snapped in the stands watching on as England battled against Australia, going on to win 47-7.

After the game, Kate posed for a group photo and issued a statement via her and Prince William’s official social media account. The caption read: “Well done @RedRosesRugby! A great result against Australia and on to the Quarter Finals.”

Fans have also commented on the image published by Kensington Palace showing Princess Kate “cheering” on the team from the stands. One social media on X, wrote: “It’s so good to see our Princess beaming, smiling, and radiant.”

Another sporting fan, added: “That was quite a win! Lovely to see you there, Princess.”

A third, commented: “Great to see the Princess of Wales supporting the ladies.”

Another, wrote: “She’s an amazing patron, so happy that she was there to support the girls!”

Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales was seen in the stands as the Welsh Women’s National Rugby Union Team took on Fiji in the group stage this weekend. William was spotted at Sandy Park in Exeter with Wales going on to narrowly lose 28-25.

Another social media post read: “Commiserations to Welsh Rugby Union. You fought hard and made the nation proud.”

The prince is patron of the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) and the princess holds a similar position with the Rugby Football Union.

William and Kate’s also made an appearance at the Natural History Museum gardens earlier this week – their first engagement since the summer break.

The pair met with school pupils who had been taking part in classes aimed at connect with nature and help boost biodiversity in urban areas. Kate has previously spoken about how important it is for children to spend time in nature.

The visit marked the start of the Autumn programme of events for the Prince and Princess of Wales which will include Prince William visiting Brazil to mark the fifth anniversary of his Earthshot environmental prize.

The Royal Family are currently in mourning for Katharine, The Duchess of Kent, the wife of the late Queen’s cousin the Duke of Kent, with flags flown at half mast at Buckingham Palace and at royal residences around the country.
