We’re a nation of animal lovers, and many of us are absolutely obsessed with our pets. Whether you’re a cat lover, a dog person, or anything in between, being devoted to the animals we bring into our homes is a natural part of our lives.
While you might constantly monitor your pet when you’re at home, do you know what they get up to when you’re out of the house or fast asleep? The answer might shock you, as none of us really know what goes on in our homes when we’re not there.
This is why one woman decided to put up a Ring camera in her living room where her two dogs sleep, so that she can look back on what they’ve been getting up to while she’s asleep or out of the house.
And after checking the footage one morning, she was left in stitches at the bizarre thing one of her dogs had managed to do in the middle of the night while she was fast asleep.
The woman, named Sophie, shared the video on TikTok that showed her dog, Spencer, trotting into the room at around 2am.
In the middle of the room, a large fan slowly rotates to help keep the two dogs cool during the night. Curious, Spencer walks over to the fan and goes to sniff at it, but his nose touches the off switch, and the fan comes to a stop with a loud beep.
Hilariously, Spencer seems to know he’s done something wrong, as he completely freezes and stares directly at the Ring camera, as if waiting to be told off for accidentally turning off the fan.
Sophie wrote on the post: “My dog accidentally turns off the fan and s**ts himself.”
She also captioned the video: “I wondered why the fan was off when I came downstairs in the morning, thought maybe we’d had a power cut or it had broken? Watched the Ring camera back, and he’d decided to take it upon himself and turn it off at 2am.”

Commenters on the video were also left in stitches by Spencer’s antics. Many pointed out the second dog at the very bottom of the camera footage, who had been peacefully sleeping until it opened one eye when Spencer turned off the fan.
One person said: “He’s trying to figure out how to put it back on before he gets into trouble, that’s hilarious!”
Another added: “They have the funniest personalities. They’re so aware.”
A third also posted: “I love how the other one slowly opens his eyes.”
