The only daughter of Prince Alois and Princess Sophie held her dream wedding at the Cathedral of St Florin today in Liechtenstein. Princess Marie Caroline married Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer in a gorgeous lace dress with fluttering sheer sleeves and a sheer shoulder design, with intricate detailing.

Princess Marie Caroline added a showstopping veil to her look too, as it trailed behind her and was carried by her bridesmaids and flower girls. The royal wore a sparkling crown on her pinned-back hair with long diamond earrings adorning her ears.

The Princess of Liechtenstein kept her makeup natural and wore a light blush and a deep rose lipstick, keeping in line with her pretty wedding aesthetic. Carrying a gorgeous bouquet of yellow and white flowers, she waved at the top of the steps of the Cathedral at the crowds gathered to celebrate her big day.

The young flower girls also wore white dresses with puff sleeves and olive green bows with flower crowns.

The 28-year-old royal, who is the couple’s second child and only daughter, currently lives in London with her husband-to-be. She previously studied at Parsons School of Design in Paris and New York, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design in 2020.

The Princely House of Liechtenstein announced the couple’s engagement last October, with the princess becoming the first of Hereditary Prince Alois and Princess Sophie’s children to be married.

The royal, who was born in 1996, is not included in the line of succession because Liechtenstein is the only European monarchy to operate under agnatic primogeniture rules.

The rule means that women are excluded from the throne and the line of succession. All three of her brothers – two of whom are younger than her – are all included in the line of succession.

After the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests will move into Vaduz Castle for their wedding reception.

The princess studied at Parsons School of Design in Paris and New York, graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design.

Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of St Andrews and his postgraduate degree from Queens College, University of Cambridge.

He began his career in 2013, working in Investment Banking in Paris and New York, before returning to London in 2016, where he now works in Investment Management.
