In a televised cabinet meeting,  Donald Trump launched into an unfounded tirade against the UK, focusing on his long-standing grudge against wind farms.

The US President singled out the UK for criticism, accusing it of allowing windmills to “ruin” the country.

He falsely claimed that the cost of energy in the UK is “through the roof” due to the use of wind energy.

Trump’s animosity towards wind farms dates back to when the Scottish Government permitted one to be constructed offshore near one of his golf courses in the mid-2010s.

He often brings up the subject, spreading baseless conspiracy theories about windmills causing the death of whales, which is not the case, reports The Mirror.

Scientists have linked the recent rise in whale deaths to warming oceans, a consequence of climate change.

Wind farm-generated energy is significantly cheaper than that produced by nuclear, gas or coal.

According to surveys, wind power is the second most favoured method of energy generation among the UK public, closely following nuclear.

Fossil fuels are the least popular methods according to those surveyed in YouGov’s tracker.

In a rare public attack on an ally, Trump stated: “Windmills we’re not going to allow them. They’re ruining our country. They’re ruining every country.

“If you look at – I hate to mention countries but you look at the UK, what’s happened in the UK they have energy costs through the roof, it’s because of wind.”

None of these claims hold any truth.

He further commented: “They want everything, close up the northern parts of the country they have oil it’s tremendous and they closed it up…I tell them they’re my friends, but man you’re going to have a bad awakening pretty soon.”

Earlier in the cabinet meeting, Trump seemed captivated by a depiction of a server farm proposed by Meta, which is nearly as large as Manhattan.

Shortly after, he expressed his dissatisfaction with solar farms, criticising them for occupying too much space.
