Aldi launches ‘Superfan Card’ that unlocks £5,000 ‘year of free shopping’ | UK | News

Aldi has announced the return of its ‘Superfan Card’ that will allow one lucky shopper to unlock a year of free shopping worth £5,000. The bargain supermarket launched the card last year and invited shoppers to apply to win the coveted prize.

Shopper Charlotte Mellor from Oldham bagged the first-ever Superfan Card, earning her a year’s worth of free groceries, and now the competition is back for 2025. Only one shopper will be able to get their hands on the grand prize and this year, the winner will also receive exclusive access to a selection of Aldi’s new product launches before they land in stores.

To be in with a chance of winning the Superfan Card, Aldi is inviting customers to say exactly why they deserve to be this year’s Superfan.

Shoppers must write a short application of no more than 250 words explaining why they are Aldi’s biggest superfan and why a year’s worth of free shopping, up to the value of £5,000, should be theirs.

Entrants can share their application by email to AldiSuperfan@aldi.co.uk along with their name, age and where they are from.

Alternatively, entries can also be made via the comments on a dedicated social media post on Aldi UK’s Facebook page when the post goes live at 11am on Sunday, August 24. Entries can be submitted from now until 11.59pm on September 18, 2025, and all entrants must be aged 18 or over.

One winner will be chosen by a panel of independent judges from all valid entries and will be contacted on or before October 1, 2025.

The winner will receive an Aldi gift card pre-loaded to the value of £416.67 per calendar month for a period of 12 months to the total value of £5,000, as well as exclusive access to Aldi’s new product launches.

Rebecca Heley, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “The response to last year’s competition was phenomenal, and Charlotte set the bar high as our very first Superfan Card winner.

“We can’t wait to hear from this year’s hopefuls and discover who will carry the Aldi Superfan Card for 2025.”
