I’ve found items with discounts as high as 75% off in the Dunelm sale (Image: Dunelm)
Dunelm has kicked off its Bank Holiday sale, with discounts on furniture, garden, and homeware accessories. Although the sale is advertised as up to 50% off, there are reductions of as much as 75% off clearance. With hundreds of items included in the sale, it might be a little hard to know where to start. So, I’ve selected a handful of my favourite deals, including some low-cost garden furniture and an armchair I’ve had my eye on for a while.
As a shopping editor (and self-proclaimed interiors fanatic), I’m always looking through the latest ranges from my favourite brands, including Marks and Spencer and John Lewis. But when it comes to affordable options that often rival the more high-end retailers, I always seem to come back to Dunelm. One of my favourite things (aside from the purse-friendly price tags on offer) is that Dunelm offers a range of styles to suit almost any home aesthetic.
Since the sale marks the Bank Holiday, discounts are likely to last only a few days. You can browse Dunelm’s entire sale here. Or keep scrolling for some of my top picks from the collection.
Beatrice Woven Stripe Snuggle Chair – save £50
The Dunelm stripe chair is a lovely statement piece without being overwhelming (Image: Dunelm)
I’ve had my eye on the Beatrice Snuggle Chair for some time now. Since its launch, it has been updated in a variety of colours and patterns, but as part of the Bank Holiday sale, the original striped version is discounted. Although the discount isn’t the biggest in the current sale, there’s still a £50 saving, and I think the chair looks far more expensive than it actually is. Retailing for £399, it’s now discounted to £349 in the green (my personal favourite) and beige.
The cosy snuggle chair is wider than a standard armchair, so it is probably better suited to a larger space. The traditional stripe pattern makes a statement without being overwhelming and is a subtle way to inject a little bit of colour into a room.
Dunelm says the chair has a fixed back for support and cushions filled with a mixture of foam and fibre.
While it is a bit of an investment, previous shoppers have left positive reviews, scoring the item 4.7 out of five stars. One shopper said: “Great looking chair; it’s very comfortable. Big enough for two people and good quality.”
Rattan four-seater conversation set – now half price
The four-seater conversation set is discounted by 50% (Image: Dunelm)
The end of summer might be in sight, but there is still time to get out and enjoy the last of the warmer days in the garden. August and September are arguably some of the best times to buy garden furniture, with brands discounting stock to make way for autumn. Dunelm is no different, with a hefty 50% off a four-seater garden table and lounge chair set.
Consisting of two armchairs, a sofa and a small coffee table, this set has a modern rattan design. Dunelm says the powder-coated steel frame is weather-resistant, meaning it should be hard-wearing enough to survive through the winter in time for next summer. That said, for extra protection, you could always cover it or store it in a garage or large shed for peace of mind.
The set arrives flat-packed, meaning you will need to assemble it yourself, although in reviews, shoppers have said this is a fairly straightforward process. One customer wrote: “The furniture was very straightforward to put together with two of us and is good quality with some weight to it.”
It has also earned a 4.4-star customer satisfaction rating, with another person saying: “Stunning set, very comfortable with wide, deep seats, extra cushions finish it nicely.”
That said, shoppers have been left disappointed after buying it full price and now spotting the whopping discount. Originally priced at £399, it’s now just £199.50.
Rattan sideboard – save £95
This rattan sideboard is discounted by 30% (Image: Dunelm)
In my house, our sideboard is a lifesaver for keeping our living area looking put together and sleek while also disguising a lot of chaos within. You can store anything from trinkets and books to dishes and glassware in a sideboard, close the doors, and have a put-together-looking space with ease. Plus, you can use them to display vases and lamps to inject character into a room.
Dunelm’s Hendrick sideboard is fairly large, with two double-doored compartments and measures 160cm in width.
I particularly like this one’s natural wood effect and rattan (a design trend that seemingly isn’t going anywhere), making it versatile enough to go in almost any room. Right now, as part of the Dunelm sale, it’s reduced by £94.60. Retailing for £249 at full price, it’s currently reduced by 30% to £174.30.
Although the sideboard has not received any reviews yet, the matching TV console has been described as “good quality.”
Georgi Double Shoe Drop – save 30%
The Dunelm shoe rack is slim enough to fit in compact spaces (Image: Dunelm)
While I’m on the topic of storage, is there anything more annoying than coming in and almost tripping over all of the shoes by the front door? That’s why this handy shoe storage rack caught my eye. Unlike a traditional shoe rack, this one is concealed as a tall cabinet, the top of which can even be used to store trinkets, keys and decorative items.
Made from solid wood and with a black-painted finish, it’s fairly versatile. It does have the added touch of gold handles (which personally I like, but admittedly might not be to everyone’s taste). The cabinet also comes in a neutral colourway, though this isn’t currently on sale.
With a diameter of 25cm, it’s slim enough that it won’t take up too much space in smaller areas, but can still store a deceiving amount. Each drawer folds out to reveal a handy spot to drop up to eight pairs of shoes (up to a UK size 9). There’s also a slim drawer at the top for any smaller items.
Though it usually retails for £229, a 30% discount is available as part of the sale, making it available for just £160.30.
Seersucker Woven Cotton Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set – under £50
The bedding comes in a dark moss green, plus some neutral shades (Image: Dunelm)
Bedding is a great way to give your bedroom a seasonal refresh without having to fully redecorate, and this woven cotton duvet caught my eye. While I particularly like the mossy green shade, it also comes in more versatile tones of warm beige and white. All of the sets are currently on sale, discounted by 30%, although the price varies depending on size.
The King Size set, originally £65, is now £45.40. The Double set is £36.50 (originally £55), and the Single set is now £31.50 (down from £45). The only set that is more than £50 is the Super King size, which is discounted from £75 to £52.50.
The set in all three colours has a customer satisfaction rating of 4.8 stars out of a possible five, with one customer saying: “Just what I was hoping for. The colour is perfect. The duvet truly doesn’t need ironing, but still looks great. Seersucker is such an underrated material!”
