Another blistering heatwave is on the horizon with temperatures forecast to reach a scorching 37C. UK hot weather maps have turned volcanic red indicating that the mercury is set to soar and boiling conditions will once again make an appearance much to the pleasure of sun-loving Brits.

This means we could get another heatwave of the summer after weeks of rain and thunderstorms that have prompted a number of weather warnings. The heat bomb will smash into the country in exactly two weeks time on August 16. The wall of warmth will initially hit Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and north Wales the hardest with temperatures predicted to hit a sweaty 37C.

Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Hampshire will not be far behind with highs of 36C predicted. Meanwhile the entirety of southern England will see temperatures reach a sizzling 35C, south Wales will also see temperatures peak at 35C.

Key cities in southwest England including Bristol and Bath will see the mercury peak at 33C whilst west and mid Wales will see temperatures a degree cooler at 32C.

The east and west Midlands will record highs of 33C-36C whilst parts of Yorkshire and the Humber are likely to experience 33C.

As the red hot heatwave makes its mark on the country it looks like millions of Brits are in for an uncomfortable night with temperatures likely to hover at around 34C at midnight on August 17.

Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Staffordshire are forecast the highest temperatures whilst London and the surrounding areas will not be far behind with the mercury forecast to be around 33C.

Elsewhere those in Wiltshire, Berkshire, Hampshire and south Wales are likely to see a rather warm night with highs of 32C forecast. Those in the east and west Midlands are on track for highs of 31C.

The heatwave shows no sign of slowing down there as at 6pm on August 17 Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk will bask in highs of 36C.

Kent, London and Surrey also won’t be cool, with temperatures predicted to skyrocket to 34C whilst key coastal cities including Brighton and Portsmouth will see balmy highs of 33C.

Highs of 31C will hit South west England alongside the east and west Midlands.

Seperately in the Met Office’s weather outlook for this period the forecaster predicts that “high pressure, and therefore fairly settled conditions overall, appears most likely for the second half of August”.
