Prince Harry set to do ‘something extra special’ for Meghan Markle’s birthday – expert | Royal | News

Prince Harry is set to do something “extra special” for Meghan Markle’s birthday next week, a royal expert has said. The Duchess of Sussex will turn 44 on Monday, and is likely to spend the day with her nearest and dearest, which is set to include her husband Harry and their children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

While her birthday plans are unknown, it is believed the duchess will mark her latest milestone privately. However, this doesn’t mean it won’t be celebrated in style. Former royal butler Grant Harrold, who has worked with Prince Harry in the past during his time working for King Charles between 2004 and 2011, believes that the duke, 40, will buy her something “extra special”.

Speaking exclusively to Heart Bingo, Harrold said: “He’s (Harry) quite generous. I think he’ll go down the route of buying her jewellery or taking her away on holiday.

“I’m sure it will be something extra special. The Royal Family are famous for quirky fun presents, so who knows, maybe he might get her a piece of land on the moon.

“Or he might get her a title as a bit of a joke, you can get these Highland titles – so he may get something a little bit quirky, a little bit fun.

“The royals normally try to give each other things that are a little bit different, the sort of things money can’t buy.”

While Meghan Markle has been radio-silent on Instagram since July 4 on her personal account, it is likely she may share some snippets of her big day online, having done this for both her children’s birthdays before.

Speaking about how Harry and Meghan will mark her birthday publicly, Harrold said: “They’ll try to make people aware it’s her birthday, which is normal, that’s what everyone likes to do because it’s nice to get birthday wishes and everyone deserves birthday wishes. I think that’s a nice thing to do.”

The Royal Family are not expected to mark Meghan’s birthday publicly on their social media accounts, with them only tending to do this for non-working royals when they celebrate a significant birthday.

For example, Prince Harry received public birthday messages from King Charles, Prince William and Princess Kate last year as he turned 40, despite the fact he quit royal life with Meghan in 2020.
