Prince William’s bizarre hack to avoid embarrassment with Prince George | Royal | News

Prince William had one bizarre parenting hack that he used when he became a first-time dad back in 2013. Prince William and Princess Kate welcomed their first child in 2013 – with Prince George having celebrated his 12th birthday earlier this week.

Despite the excitement about their new adventure into parenthood, Kate previously revealed that they were just as nervous as any other new parents. As the couple left the hospital, the day after their son’s birth, William appeared to attract attention for how smoothly he managed to clip in George’s car seat.

Speaking of William’s early days of parenthood, an insider said: “William had no idea it would be this tough. He’s using a bizarre tactic of belting out Coldplay anthems at all hours of the night even though he can barely hold a note. It’s even keeping Kate’s parents awake.”

During a previous appearance on Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast, Happy Mum, Happy Baby, the Princess of Wales discussed the parenting hack that William used to help them prepare for the moment they would bring their newborn home.

Kate revealed that they had practised the step many times, in order to avoid causing any embarrassment to themselves, as they knew people would be waiting outside the hospital.

Speaking to Giovanna, Kate explained: “We were like ‘what do we do?… in a swaddle?’. ‘How’s this supposed to work?'”

Kate added: “We even tried to practice with a little baby, like a little doll, at home but you know it just never works out the way you planned it so it was quite hard to do that on the world’s stage, but no, he [William] did a very good job.”

Less than two years after the birth of George, the couple welcomed their second child – and only daughter – now-10-year-old Princess Charlotte.

In April 2018, Kate gave birth to the couple’s third child, and second son, now-seven-year-old Prince Louis.

In honour of George’s 12th birthday on July 22, Kensington Palace released a new picture of the young royal.
