Shower screens can easily appear grubby even when they’re not being used, leading to awkward moments when unexpected guests request to use your bathroom. While glass cleaner is an option, TikTok cleaning expert @jetlagremedy has revealed a superior method for achieving sparkling, like-new glass.
In a popular video, she shares her approach: “How I clean glass as a professional cleaner”, she begins. “I’m gonna show you how I personally clean a shower screen as a professional cleaner.”
She starts with a spray mixture of dish detergent and water, applying it liberally to “the entirety of the screen,” both inside and out.
Following this, she suggests buffing the screen using a “cloth or a soft sponge”. She finds that circular motions yield the best results.
For those whose shower head doesn’t reach the screen, she recommends using “a bucket” or “a bottle of water” for rinsing.
She demonstrates this by pouring water over the top edge of the screen, allowing it to cascade down in a shower-like manner.
Next, she employs a squeegee to remove “as much of that water off” as possible.
To achieve a flawless shine, she advises drying with a microfibre towel. For an extra gleaming finish, she prefers to “use Windex or a homemade glass cleaner along with a glass cloth”.
For a sparkling clean shower screen, the trick is to apply the cleaning solution both inside and outside, then buff it with a glass cloth. The promised outcome is “no soap scum, no smudge marks”, just “an extremely clean glass panel”.
A cleaning expert recommends: “You can also shine up those metal parts with some steel cleaner”. Opting for natural cleaning products is a wise choice for several reasons.
They are gaining popularity as they tend to be safer for both personal health and the environment. Traditional cleaners often contain strong chemicals that may lead to skin irritation, breathing difficulties, and other health concerns, particularly for those with allergies or sensitivities.
Natural alternatives, on the other hand, typically utilise ingredients like vinegar, baking soda, or plant-derived extracts, which have a lower risk of causing harmful reactions.
Moreover, these eco-friendly options are biodegradable and less likely to contaminate waterways or endanger wildlife.
Many individuals also favour natural cleaners due to their minimal toxic residue, making them a more secure option for households with young children or pets.
Overall, natural cleaning products provide an efficient and environmentally responsible substitute for standard cleaning agents, contributing to a healthier living space and a greener Earth.
