Squid Game fans must watch 'creepy' psychological thriller that 'captivates' viewers

A brand new gripping psychological thriller that’s set to have fans on the edge of their seats has just dropped on Netflix.

The film, Wall to Wall, made its debut on the streaming giant on July 18 and features the acclaimed Kang Ha-neul, famed for his portrayal of Player 388 in the hit series Squid Game.

The South Korean star, who graced the screen in Squid Game’s second and third seasons, is also celebrated for his performances in other dramas like When the Camellia Blooms.

In this latest Netflix offering, Kang Ha-neul steps into the shoes of No Woo-sung, a Seoul homeowner whose life savings are tied up in his dream abode. The plot thickens as what begins as an idyllic venture spirals into a “nightmare” for viewers.

Alongside Kang Ha-neul, the cast includes Yeom Hye-ran, Seo Hyun-woo, Jeon Jin-oh, and Kim Hyun-jeong.

The title ’84 Square Meter’ in Korean alludes to the typical apartment size in South Korea, setting the scene for the domestic drama that unfolds.

The teaser trailer hints at a tale of hope dashed by eerie disturbances, with Netflix promising a “dark and suspenseful” experience as strange sounds haunt the protagonist nightly, driving him to despair.

And the reviews are already pouring in. One viewer enthused: “Wall to Wall completely captivated me. I loved how the film embraced silence, space, and subtle emotion.

“It’s a quiet yet powerful story that explores loneliness, human connection, and the meaning of comfort within confined spaces.”

Another added: “This movie was enjoyable from the beginning to the end, I don’t think there were ANY boring parts.

“It definitely had thriller/creepy vibes (reminded me of Strangers From Hell 2019). The main character always kept you on your toes about every decision he made.”

A third reviewer expressed their admiration: “Love this movie…it’s intense! The concept and how the story flows..kudos to all of the actors who played on this film..a very top notch acting, especially the main casts.

“The man with the tattoo..i adore him..he’s good at acting… a rollercoaster of emotions.”
