A royal insider who knew Prince Harry when he was growing up has revealed what the duke was really like. Paul Burrell, who was a royal butler for Princess Diana for a decade before her tragic 1997 death, became a close confidante of Harry and Prince William’s mum, and therefore spent a lot of time with the family.
This meant that as well as working for the family, he also enjoyed some free time with them too, often bringing his own sons along to play with a young William and Harry. It was during these times that the former royal butler claims he got to know what both the princes were really like.
Describing Harry, Burrell exclusively told Express.co.uk that he was a “sensitive boy”.
He said: “Harry and William both have very different personalities. William, as a child, was very studious, quite shy and careful, and measured. Harry was the reverse; Harry was the joker, the wild card, and was always having fun.
“I remember Harry riding his chopper bike through the estate at Highgrove, coming down to play football with my boys, and William arriving in his model Aston Martin car. Harry would have holes in his jeans, and William would be immaculately dressed.”
The insight comes just months before Burrell’s new book The Royal Insider is set to hit the shelves.
The book, which will be released in September, will reveal untold stories of his life working for the Royal Family.
