A woman was left flabbergasted at the way their neighbour was trying to control the parking in the area, saying that it was one of the most “frustrating” things she’d ever come across while living in the suburban area.
She explained that parking can get a little “congested”. So pretty often, someone random parks outside her house.
On Reddit, the residnet shared: “Parking tends to get a bit congested, especially when people throw parties. Needless to say, I’m quite used to random cars being parked in front of my house. Every single house on the block also has its own driveway.”
However, not everyone is as accommodating about the public parking. Apparently, an “older woman” has been behaving pretty “entitledly” about the whole situation.
As she lives “on a corner,” she has a pavement on “two sides”. This means she “tries to prevent anyone from parking along either side” – and some of the methods she uses are questionable.
The older resident goes about it in “several ways” – including “throwing garbage onto cars, leaving neurotic notes that say things like ‘Find a new place to park,’ and verbally confronting people who are well within their legal rights to park”.
She continued: “Recently, my brother had to park near her house and came back to find a note on his car. It’s so frustrating… Realistically, I don’t even know what can be done about it”.
In the comments, someone said that if she damages the car, then “call the cops,” otherwise they should “throw away the notes and ignore her”.
They also advised: “Get a camera for the car that is motion-activated.”
Another wrote: “Get a dashcam that specifically records when parked. That’s what they’re for – any damage anyone does when you’re not driving. It might also save your butt one day if you have a traffic incident while driving, too, so it would pay for itself.
“I’m currently watching video reviews and researching to get one myself, and I am amazed at the high quality ones out there”.
Somebody else shared: “I have one of these, too. She has a two-car garage (full of junk, no room for cars) and a driveway with two vehicles, one that runs and one that is sitting on rims. She has friends coming and going constantly.
“She has demanded that we refrain from parking in front of OUR OWN house so her guests could park there.
“Said the same to our neighbour on the other side, two houses down from her. We all just agree that she’s crazy and ignore her, but the entitlement is STRONG with this one. I feel your pain. I really do”.
Another Redditor shared: “That’s so aggravating! My dad has started parking the extra car in front of her house in lieu of my brother’s car, and I told him to collect the notes and dump them on her lawn.”
And a final responder remarked: “People like your neighbour should not live in neighbourhoods! My next-door neighbours are old, angry people. They will not let any contractor park in front of their house, even when work is being done on their house.”
