Despite a disastrous launch that almost ruined developer CD Projekt’s reputation, Cyberpunk 2077 has gone on to become one of the very best games of the decade.
The release of countless updates, not to mention the Phantom Liberty expansion in 2023, has seen Cyberpunk 2077 gain ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ recent reviews on Steam.
If you haven’t experienced the delights of Night City, then the good news is that Cyberpunk 2077 has just been added to the PS Plus Extra library for July 2025.
In fact, to celebrate the 15-year anniversary of PlayStation Plus, Cyberpunk 2077 is playable from today (July 9).
In more good news, the Phantom Liberty expansion starring Idris Elba is available at the reduced price of £17.49.
According to Sony, the Phantom Liberty discount is only available to PS Plus subscribers and is available until July 23.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world role-playing game from the creators of The Witcher 3.
“Set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification, you play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality,” reads the official description.
“Customise your character and playstyle as you take on jobs, build a reputation, and unlock upgrades. The relationships you forge and the choices you make will shape the story and the world around you. Legends are made here. What will yours be?”
Other games coming to PS Plus Extra in July include Abiotic Factor, which joins the service on July 22.
Abiotic Factor is a day-one release for PS Plus subscribers. The game features open-world survival elements with crafting and multiplayer. It’s said to have a 90s sci-fi twist.
Other games coming to PS Plus Extra in July include Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, Bluey: The Video Game, Planet Zoo, Risk of Rain 2, Tropico 6 and New World: Aeternum.
PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, on the other hand, can download and play Twisted Metal 3 and Twisted Metal 4.
