Santander has acquired TSB in a £2.5 billion deal, beating Barclays to the Sabadell-owned unit, according to reports. The deal, which still needs regulatory and shareholder approval, will see TSB integrated into the Santander UK group, creating the second largest bank in the UK by personal current account balances.
