Meghan Markle stoops to new low as she begs people to ‘listen to her truth’ | Royal | News

Meghan Markle has been accused of stooping to a new low after suggesting that she was lied about during her time as a royal. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, made a comment this week when she appeared on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast.

When asked if she would do anything differently to change her public narrative, which is very controversial, Meghan said: “Yes, I would ask people to tell the truth.” This was seen as a dig at the royals and their aides, with the Duchess suggesting she was lied about.

This is not the first time the Duchess has made a comment along these lines, however, a news commentator has said that this recent comment in the podcast was “very low” for Meghan.

Speaking on The Sun’s royal exclusive show, news commentator Samara Gill told The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson that she doesn’t “trust” what Meghan says.

She said: “I don’t trust a word that woman says. I think it is very, very low for her to insinuate that we should listen to her truth or that the royal family should tell the truth.”

While Meghan’s comments may have taken some people aback, for others it simply reminds them of other things Meghan, 43, and her husband Prince Harry, 40, have insinuated since quitting royal life in 2020.

In 2021, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey at their Montecito home and made the suggestion that royal aides had not told the truth.

She told Oprah in 2021: “Only once we were married and everything started to worsen that I came to understand – not only was I not being protected but that they were willing to lie to protect other members of the family.

“They were not willing to tell the truth to protect myself and my husband.”

Prince Harry echoed this in the 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, in which he suggested that people did not want to “tell the truth” to protect the couple when they were senior working royals.
