A tattoo parlour owner who appeared in a joint video with Prince Harry and American rapper Jelly Roll this week has opened up about what the duke, 40, is like behind closed doors.

The video, which was taken in September when the prince was in New York City, was a promotional clip for the duke’s next Invictus Games, set to be held in Canada next year.

In the clip, filmed inside East Side Ink, the prince is shown striking a deal with 39-year-old Jelly Cat as they agree the rapper will perform at the closing ceremony for the Invictus Games in exchange for the prince getting a tattoo.

Fake ink is used in the video, with “I Am Jelly Roll” tattooed on the duke’s neck, a saying inspired by the Invictus Games “I Am” logo.

Alongside the two famous men, the real owner of the tattoo parlour also featured in the video at the beginning.

Josh Lord, who owns the shop in the Lower East Side of New York City, told People that being part of the video was “exciting”.

He also exclusively revealed what the duke was like during filming in an eight-word verdict claiming “he’s got comedic chops that I didn’t expect.”

Lord told the magazine: “Absolutely, the person who was unexpectedly the funniest was Harry.

“Here we are, a room full of people who have seen some things, but Harry was probably the bravest and funniest of all of us, really. Behind the scenes, he’s got comedic chops that I didn’t expect.”

He added: “He’s a very laid-back, normal guy if you let him be. I can’t imagine the world that he grew up in and how difficult it must have been, but he’s managed to maintain a level of humanity and kindness in everything he does, which is remarkable.”

The clip was used to advertise the upcoming Invictus Games, which was first set up in 2014 by the prince to support and bring together wounded and sick service personnel and veterans.

It is believed the annual event was inspired by the prince’s own time serving in the Army in Afghanistan.

His wife Meghan Markle, 43, is expected to attend the event alongside him next year, with rumours that their children may also be present.
